Why do we love Tenerife?

Close your eyes and imagine a beautiful sub-tropical island, where the sun shines virtually every day of the year, where temperatures in winter rarely fall below 20°C yet in summer rarely exceed 30°C. An island whose first language is Spanish, yet particularily in the sun-kissed south, English is spoken extensively, and where the local people are helpful and friendly. Only 4 hours from the UK, with scheduled daily flights from most major UK airports, it welcomes charter flights from virtually every airport in the UK.

An island where there is an emphasis on sport and leisure, with international class golf courses (7 at present with more planned), every kind of water sport imaginable, and sea fishing and whale & dolphin spotting to name but a few. A place where the nightlife is about class and quality, where every kind of taste is catered for, in particular the fabulous sea food restaurants, and where the bar and club scene is chic and sophisticated, and the quality of hotel accommodation is of the highest standard.

An island, where you can be on the beach sunbathing one minute, and 45 minutes later walking through deep snow on the highest peak in Spain, the glorious Mt. Teide. Where only minutes from the main tourist areas, you can be in a pine forest, or viewing deep barrancos (chasms) created by volcanic activity from one of over 400 volcanos which were active thousands of years ago. Where the Guanche’s, a mysterious people of blonde hair and blue eyes, once were the inhabitants, before the Spanish Conquistadores came and invaded their island, and that of the other six Canary Islands.

An island which for all of its independence of thought and culture, is part of the economy of Spain, one of the most vibrant and dynamic economies in the European Community. Where investment in property is sound and sensible, with steady growth of around 10%, and no periods of stagnation or deflation.  But most of all we love Tenerife because…

It’s a great place to live!
