Los Cristianos properties for sale Tenerife
Situated in an enviable position on the sunny south coast of Tenerife, is the bustling town of Los Cristianos. Initially developed around a traditional fishing village, this resort has expanded considerably over the years -and yet it still manages to retain it’s original old-world charm, making it is easy to understand why it has maintained its popularity over the last 30 years.
Apart from the magnificent Las Vistas Beach, which sits adjacent to a second, smaller beach, next to the ferry-port, Los Cristianos boasts a beautiful tree-lined promenade, leading-up to the Reveron Plaza, with its pristine-white church and huge clock-tower, which dominates the skyline. Not far from the square is the Los Cristianos Cultural Centre, and beyond that is the site where numerous funfairs, parades and carnivals set the town alight with vibrant music, non-stop dancing -and endless party celebrations.
This truly cosmopolitan area also has a varied selection of properties, ranging from quality sea-front hotels such as the 'Arona Gran' and the 'Hotel H10 -Big Sur', to self catering holiday apartment complexes, including 'Paloma Beach', 'Castle Harbour', 'Victoria Court I and II' and 'Royal Palm' -to name but a few. Los Cristianos also offers an abundance of residential complexes, including 'Comodoro', 'Dinastia', 'Playa Graciosa', 'Port Royale', 'Cristimar', Torres Del Sol', 'Santa Amalia', La Colina, El Rincon and El Mirador. There is also the 'Parque Tropical III' complex, which has a mixture of apartments and townhouses, along with 'Portonovo' -a brand new development of luxury townhouses, 'Los Arcos', a development of bungalows -and Vista Hermosa' -a residential development of both villas and apartments.
Apart from an abundance of accommodation to choose from, Los Cristianos also boasts a never-ending supply of entertainment, both day-time and evening. This includes a plethora of traditional Spanish fish restaurants, along with a mixture of Chinese, Indian and Italian cuisine, a huge selection of steak-houses, a multitude of fast-food outlets -and a handful of ice-cream parlours. Add to this many scores of local, cosmopolitan -and themed bars, interspersed with more clothing shops, fashion boutiques, perfumeries, Jewellery shops, unisex hairdressers and beauty parlours, along with an abundance of supermarkets, mini-markets and souvenir and beachwear shops, than one can shake a stick at -and mix it up with a variety of stationary shops, toyshops and bookshops, along with a couple of sports and betting shops, a collection of liquor and tobacco establishments, a sprinkling of hardware stores, a Spanish travel-agents and several excursion outlets, a pair of tattoo studios, a bunch of florists and fruit-sellers, a dozen banks -and half-a-dozen phone-shops, internet-cafes and electronic outlets, and it is easy to see why Los Cristianos is renowned for its vibrant atmosphere from dawn until long-after dusk.
However, apart from being a hive of entertainment, Los Cristianos also has schools and a medical centre, along with several huge business centres, which primarily encompass a mixture of lawyers, accountants, finance companies, surveyors and architects. The town-centre is also host to a smattering of doctors, dentists, chiropractors, opticians, pharmacies and parapharmacies, along with a group of estate agents, a few rent-a-car establishments, two petrol stations -and even a maritime emporium, which sits within a stones-throw of Los Cristianos Harbour, where ferries leave for -and arrive from, the neighbouring Islands of La Gomera, La Palma and El Hierro. There are also various themed shipping vessels, including 'pirate ships' and 'glass-bottomed boats', which set-sail on a daily basis, to see the wonderful pilot-whales and bottle-nosed dolphins, which live off the south-coast of the island.
