Abama Resort Serves Up ATP Action in Stunning Tenerife Setting

The recent ATP Challenger tournament at Abama Resort in Tenerife showcased high-level professional tennis at one of the Canary Islands’ premier sporting venues. Held at the Abama Tennis Academy, the event attracted a competitive international field and delivered a week of intense matches. Lloyd Harris claimed the singles title after a strong run through the draw, defeating Spanish wildcard Alejandro Moro Cañas in the final. The tournament highlighted both established Challenger players and emerging talents, reinforcing Tenerife’s growing reputation as a destination capable of hosting significant professional events.

Complementing the tournament’s success are the outstanding facilities at Abama Resort’s Tennis Academy, which features seven professional-grade outdoor hard courts with lighting and a centre court seating around 600 spectators. The courts use high-quality surfaces similar to those seen at Grand Slam events, and the venue offers panoramic views of the Atlantic Ocean and Mount Teide. In addition to tennis, the academy includes padel courts, a pro shop, café and modern player amenities. With coaching programmes for all ages and the ability to stage ATP-level competition, Abama combines elite sporting infrastructure with a luxury resort setting, making it a standout tennis destination in Spain.
